Bathrooms are one of the highest trafficked rooms in your home, which makes it no surprise that it is also one of the most valuable in terms of home resale.
Many factors go into deciding on a bathroom renovation: price, style, selections, and most importantly, downtime; how long will it take to complete. Having your bathroom torn apart and unusable for an extended period of time is not an appealing thought. This is where choosing Sunrise Building & Remodeling can give you peace of mind and confidence that your project will benefit from our 35 years of renovation experience in Westchester County, Putnam County and Fairfield County Connecticut.
A bathroom should be a functional and aesthetically pleasing space, that allows someone to intuitively prepare for their day with no hassle in a peaceful environment. Most importantly though, your bathroom should fit your lifestyle, and be a space where you’re comfortable and fond of spending time.
Westchester Bathroom Remodeling Process
It cannot be stressed enough: you need a plan. If you don’t have a plan, you will spend much more money than you want or need to. That’s a guarantee. You should select ALL finish materials before you can get an accurate cost estimate. This includes: tile (special designs, inserts, layout, height at shower, tub and walls), vanity, medicine cabinets (surface mounted, recessed, free standing), plumbing fixtures (how many shower heads, how many sinks, does the toilet valve match the finish on your faucets), tub style (freestanding, built-in, Jacuzzi), shower (size, shape and what type of enclosure, steam), lighting, floor heat, and fan type/ventilation. Unless you have done your homework choosing all of these items, you cannot get an accurate estimate.
Although we can help you with designing your dream space, we also work with many Bath Design Specialists and architects who will bring your bathroom remodeling or renovation ideas to life. Finding the perfect balance between budget and your dream bathroom is our specialty.
Bathroom Vanities and Countertops Installation
In a guest or hall bathroom, which might be used by children or teenagers, the vanity should be large enough to contain clutter and hold daily bathing essentials. Guests needs are basic. But if the room is used by teens, you should have designated places to store hair dryers and cosmetics that would otherwise crowd the counter.
The master bathroom is the hub of daily bathing and to make it functional, a vanity with two sinks if possible and plenty of storage would be the best choice. The style of the vanity could echo the style of the furnishings in the bedroom but it doesn’t have to match.
While a floating vanity will give the illusion of more space by increasing the perception of more floor space, a furniture-like piece standing on legs will help the bathroom blend in to the style of the home.
Our goal is to bring you superior remodeling solutions through our knowledge base and expertise, allowing you to make your dream bathroom a reality.

Bathroom Flooring Installation
Tile is the surface of choice in the bathroom—natural stone or porcelain and ceramic that mimic natural stone. Tile is easy to maintain, attractive and available in so many options. But it can get awfully cold. Ask us about floor warming options like Radiant heating or Low Voltage electric floor warming mats.
As the bathroom increasingly becomes a place to relax and recharge, complete with steam shower and spa tub, the lighting requires extra thought. And when it’s done right, the payoff is great. After all, this is the room where you start and end your day.
A good lighting plan is a series of layers — placing ample light where it is needed for showers, shaving, or putting on makeup, for instance, while other light sources enhance the overall mood of the room.
